Competency goal # 1 To establish and maintain a safe, healthy learning environment.
Functional Area 1: safe

era infantren are in my care, I do my best to get them safe indoor and outdoor. When I introduce my classroom in the morning, I check for any items that may be spartan to them including broken or sharp toys and bins. I also honour any cleaning products in the closet that is locked. We have a first-aid kit for deep down including: bandages, gauze, ipecac syrup, tape, scissors, tweezers and a thermometer. We also carry single for outdoors. I have emergency numbers that may be needed posted by the ph peerless in the classroom. We exercise doing a fire drill once a calendar month and have practiced several tornado drills. We keep wipe of all children entering and exiting the class in a ligature. The binder also has all contact information for each child in the class. Before leaving the classroom I ever so do a head count to make real everyone is with the class. While blowouting outdoors I check for and toys that may be broken and any rust on the play social organization. I also keep the area where the play structure is, free of any toys to interrupt tripping hazards. Whenever children are on the play structure, I make sure I am endlessly within an arms reach, to try and prevent any accidents.



Before returning indoors, I always do a head count, counting from front to bottom and back to front.
Functional Area 2: Healthy
Keeping children healthy is one of the most important jobs as being a use model. Washing their hands is the best way to prevent germs from spreading. When children enter the class in the morning, they must always wash their hands. by and by each diaper change/potty time, wiping noses, coming indoors and before and after each meal I always encourage them to wash their hands. Another way to prevent germs is by sanitizing any toys that have been put in a childs mouth immediately. I always keep the classroom clean and sanitize tables and toys several times a day.
